Tucked away in the idyllic shopping village of Murrumbeena, is Murrumbeena Wine Bar. Adorned by many local residents from Malvern East, Carnegie, and Murrumbeena, Murrumbeena Wine Bar is the perfect place to catch up with friends and family any time of the year.
If you’re not a wine drinker, have no fear as this venue doesn’t just pour wine. You can sip on a delicious cocktail or enjoy a refreshing beer in the beer garden while grazing on a cheeseboard. The team has also joined forces with 458 Pizzeria, so, you can enjoy a wood fire oven pizza and drink.
When we met the team we experienced a first-hand cocktail brainstorming session, where they were looking to create the perfect summer cocktail for their locals and dare we say it looked amazing!
We met Ericka, the owner, to find out what she loves about her bar, the locals, and of course drinking.
What do you love about Malvern East?
The residents; We have so many locals from Malvern East that come into the bar and also supported us during lockdown by ordering our take-away packs weekly.
Where’s your favourite place to spend time in Malvern East?
Walking around Central Park and eating at Fergus!
What is your favourite wine?
At the moment it’s our Four Winds Sparkling Riesling!
What do the locals love at the moment?
Being able to go out and socialise with their friends and family again. Also the ability to go to events and see live music again. We can’t wait to host our live music gigs and Gin Masterclasses at the bar in the next coming months. Locals love our events with tickets to the tasting sessions selling out super fast!
During lockdown 2.0 Ericka and the team devised their own signature bottled cocktails that allowed the locals to take home their favorite slice of the bar. The time in lockdown grew the establishment even closer to the community who strongly showed their support. “We had only been open for 5 months before COVID hit and I was forced to close the doors. I’ve dreamt about opening my own wine bar for 20 years, so it was difficult to come to terms with closing the business so soon after opening. I didn’t want to give up on my dream so I decided to bottle our original cocktails for take-away and make grazing boxes with our cheese selection pairing it with our boutique wine for date nights at home. The locals got around us and helped us get through those 6 months. We were delivering to Malvern East, Murrumbeena, and the surrounding suburbs. We also hosted virtual wine tasting events with our wine producers and virtual live music events with the artists that had played at the bar. The support we received from the locals was overwhelming and they are the reason we are still standing.”
So get behind the team at Murrumbeena Wine Bar and support your new local. This amazing bar is only minutes away from our Woodlands project and our newly released Carnegie project. For more information on our apartments fill out the form below.
