Meet Malvern East’s Latest Addition; Cornus Woodlands

Cornus Developments are pleased to present our Cornus Woodlands project, located at 1399 Dandenong Road, Malvern East. 

After a tumultuous 2020 and 2021, we delivered the completed project to our residents this month, with the project taking 14 months, from breaking ground to completion. 

The latest addition to the ever-growing Cornus Developments family offers residents a distinct selection of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom homes in the coveted suburb of Malvern East. The unique facade embodies the traditional nostalgia of Malvern East and is juxtaposed with modern features, such as the bold structured lines and dark tones, to tie together and bring residents a truly beautiful home. 

Inspired by the natural beauty and landscape of the suburb it encompasses, our Cornus Woodlands project has been designed to make a bold statement and be fashionable for years to come.

When we collaborated with our architects to design the building, we wanted the overall design and aesthetic to embody Malvern East and deviate from the standardised modern industrial look.

The finished design precedes our renders and expectations. The symmetrical bold lines and structure of the building are standout features bringing a character to the facade. The neutral colour palette was selected to encompass Melburians taste and also minimise the appearance of the building, helping it blend seamlessly into Malvern East. 

The kitchen is the perfect harmony of modern living meeting functional living. As part of our standard inclusions, we have a double undermount sink, Bosch appliances including; a fully integrated dishwasher, LED light strip along the backsplash, which is discreetly hidden under the cabinetry.

We have also fitted the kitchen out with a white reconstituted stone benchtop and splashback, which has subtle veins and hues of grey that run throughout. Complementing the stone is the chrome tapware and fixtures, including the Bosch oven and stovetop.

As part of our design process, we want to ensure that spaces are utilised with modern features. Factored into the designs are our modern fixtures and finishes such as a 180-degree pull-out pantry. 

To complete the kitchen we combined white 2 PACK custom joinery and timber laminate, for that traditional yet modern look.  

In order to create flow and consistency throughout the project, we have reintroduced the design from the kitchen into the bathroom. Set on a backdrop of grey ceramic tiles, residents can enjoy the reintroduction of the reconstituted stone which features as the benchtop and splashback. In the bathroom we have also included dual storage options for residents, with the inclusion of a mirrored shaving cabinet and the same 2 PACK joinery from the kitchen, as the vanity, providing enough storage to satisfy everyone’s needs in the home. 

Every apartment has been thoughtfully considered and designed to flow. From entering the home residents can enjoy being greeted by the open-plan kitchen, living and dining room, which flow onto their outdoor space, whether that be a balcony or courtyard. This design consideration ensures that light is maximised in this shared space, as a consequence of the oversized double glazed windows and adjoining glass sliding doors. Flowing throughout the apartment are the European Oak floating floorboards, their light neutral colour, instantly brightens the home and creates warmth in all of the open areas. In addition to this, we have tied the homes together with a neutral colour palette that keeps the apartments light, bright, modern and classy.
